Location: Pailyn Hotel, Sukhothai, Thailand. Actually just outside the Old Sukothai National Monumnet Park. The cradle of Thailand, within view of the Khaoluang Mountains. From here came a unified Thai nation, its alphabet, temples, culture, palaces and arts. The Pailyn hotel is situated between Old (5 mins drive) and New Sukhothai (10 minutes drive), alongside (4 km) the national park created to keep this most important cultural heritage intact. A 1 hour flight, 6 hour drive from Bangkok. Or 30 minutes flight, 5 hours drive from Chaing Mai. The Burmese border town of Mae Sot is just 3 hours to the west. Sukhothai is in the very center of the central plains, which are at the very center of Thailand, geographically and historically. This fertile region, interlaced with waterways, is the "rice bowl" of Thailand; its most important agricultural area.
