Pattaya hotels and villas, including Jomtien Beach Thailand, listed here can be booked directly without the need to provide us with a deposit or your credit card information. Originally called “Tupphraya”, Pattaya did not have a single hotel or tourist attraction. It was not until the Vietnam War and with it the US airbase at U Tapao brought thousands of servicemen looking for a resort area to Thailand did Pattaya become a centre for tourism. Now everything from villas to guest houses to small hotels to grand luxury resorts cram into the beach towns of Pattaya and Jomtien. Scuba diving, water-sports (particularly wind surfing), beach loungers, bars and adult entertainment are the order of the day, the later served by a large number of inns, lodges and bed and breakfasts in central Pattaya. Family hotels and vacation rentals do exist, primarily along Jomtien Beach. Many tour companies control the room allocations in most of the large hotels in Pattaya itself.
