The Imperial Tara Hotel is actually in south Mae Hong Son, on the road from Chiang Mai. 5 Minutes drive from Mae Hong Son regional airport (flights from Chiang Mai take 30 minutes / Bangkok take 2 and a half hours including connections), 6 hours by bus from Chiang Mai / 16 hours from Bangkok. Mae Hong Son is the capital of Thailand's north westernmost province. Set amongst a teak forest near the mountains, around 13 km from the border with Burma / Myanmar.
