Tourists to Thailand may book direct with the Koh Lanta hotels and villas featured here, which typically means no deposit is required, everything paid at check-out. Ko Lanta has replaced Ko Phi Phi as the Andaman Sea destination for budget accommodations on unspoiled beaches, although luxury resorts and fashionable boutique villas are springing up everywhere. Thai beachfront bungalows at bargain rates do still exist and many seasoned backpackers compare Koh Lanta with Lovina in Bali. A split two short ferry service exists to the nearby mainland, with summer ferries now running to Ko Phi Phi and Krabi, bringing holidaymakers and tourists seeking the ultimate cheap beach hotel special in greater numbers. This Andaman island is generally such a good deal that many foreign expatriates living and working in Phuket actually come on vacation to stay at one of the many hotels on Koh Lanta.
