Kanchanaburi information
Kanchanaburi hotels along the River Kwai using our direct reservations service generally do not require a deposit or credit card information, and allow guests to pay when they leave. Hotels in Kanchanaburi have gone up-market in recent years with several luxury resorts having opened their doors, although budget riverfront accommodations offering little more than bed and breakfast still exist. The bridge over the River Qwai is not the one built by POW’s, although the war museum is authentic; surprisingly Japanese tourists come here in large numbers. Further up river closer to the border with Myanmar, independent travelers can find cabins, floating dormitories, small guesthouses, lodges and other types of inns. Malaria can be a problem the further you are to Burma, so most holidaymakers and vacationers tend to stick to central Kanchanaburi resort hotels.
