Chiang Rai hotels are available through our Thailand reservations site with no deposit and payment due upon check-out to the Thai hoteliers themselves. Chiang Rai has taken over from Chiang Mai as the hill tribe trek centre of Thailand and offers accommodations from cheap homestay lodgings to budget hotels to boutique inns and villas to quality luxury resorts, generally at much lower prices than other tourist areas of Thailand. The Mae Kok River has several 5 star hotels along its side and it is possible to take a longtail boat from there all the way to Thaton, another hill tribe trek area. In the outlying areas, health resorts, spas and nature retreats flourish, while the center of town is full of cheap authentic Thai food restaurants, inns, hostels, teakwood houses, museums and a traditional Thai night bazaar. As the airport is some distance out of town, it is best to pre-book a transfer with your chosen hotel in Chiang Rai Thailand.
